About

With the worldwide release of their second album „Key to the Paradox' (August 2010, Terrasound Records / Twilight Records), Austria's Melodic Death-showcase TRASHCANNED have left their mark on the international metal scene for good.

The '5-men-1-woman'-formation's distinct and modern interpretation of Melodic Death/Thrash, the record's brilliant production at Hinterhof Studios and the band's songwriting prowess have generated rave reviews.

Since their formation in 2003, TRASHCANNED have played more than 100 shows in Austria's top locations and headlined numerous underground festivals, but also performed in clubs and at festivals in Germany, Sweden, Italy, the Czech republic, and Slovenia. The band has toured with Wacken Metal Battle winners TORTURE SQUAD (BRA), supported international top acts such as SWORN ENEMY (USA), DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER (D), MAROON (D), EVERGREY (SWE) or THE SORROW (A) and won 2007's „Metal For Fairness' contest, besting 40 other metal bands from all over Austria. The band's live experience accounts for their special trademark – impressive and intense live shows.

TRASHCANNED's style draws on classical Melodic Death Metal and comprises of Scandinavian Melodeath-inspired guitars, dark growls, powerful drums and spherical keyboard melodies, but also dabbles in (Modern) Thrash Metal. Critics and fans alike compare their sound to bands such as DARK TRANQUILLITY, INSOMNIUM, ARCH ENEMY, IN FLAMES or AMON AMARTH.

After finding and integrating a new drummer as well as playing a few shows over their home country in 2011, TRASHCANNED's touring schedule for the first months in 2012 includes shows in Norway, Ireland, Germany, the Czech Republich and Austria – metalheads all over Europe, prepare to get trashcanned!

For the rest of the year, plans are to focus on songwriting for their third album, highly anticipated by the press and the crowd and to be released in spring 2013, timed to match the band's ten years anniversary.
