About

The Quill is a four-piece hard rock band based in Mönsterås, Sweden. The band has been around for more then 20 years and released six studio albums, done some extensive touring throughout europe and the US, with band such as Abstrakt Algebra, Glucifer and Monster Magnet.

Determination – no other word is necessary when it come to describing The Quill. The Swedish four-piece has been around since the nineties and have so far released six acclaimed albums: 'The Quill' (1995), 'Silver Haze' (1999), 'Voodoo caravan' (2001), 'Hooray! It's a deathtrip' (2003), 'In triumph" (2006) and 'Full Circle' (2011).

The latest album 'Full Circle' saw an album packed with heavy rock firmly rooted in the seventies but vibrant and updated rather than retro. Very much classic rock and yet contemporary in the Foo Fighters/Queens Of The Stone Age vein.

The core of The Quill consists of the two mainstays, guitarist Christian Carlsson and drummer Jolle Atlagic (ex. Hanoi Rocks, The Real McCoy Band). The two musical motors whom together formed the band in the early nineties have always worked with one single goal - a determination to show audiences all over the world the sheer quality of The Quill.

In 2010 they teamed up with new singer Magnus Arnar (ex. Ground Mower, Soul 78) to fill the vacant vocalist spot. It was a perfect match. Magnus has the required range to sing the old stuff but also a rawness that the band was looking for.

In mid 2012 the lost son Roger Nilsson (ex. Spiritual Beggars, Firebird) returned to handle the bass guitar after having spent 7 years exploring other musical journeys. An energetic performer and an aggressive yet melodic player his style is a perfect match with the powerhouse drumming of Jolle Atlagic.

The Full Circle-campaign of 2011-12 saw The Quill yet again touring extensively all over Europe and also, for the first time, the US. Having toured and shared stage with band such as Black Sabbath, Deep Purple & Monster Magnet there's no stages The Quill fear to tread. Known for their high-energy, take no prisoners attitude they always deliver a live-show leaving audiences gasping for air. Did we say determination?
