About

Point Of Extinction was formed in 2005. It had 2 founding members from their old band Conspiracy, a thrash band who had released 3 e.p 's and supported such bands as Skindred, Kill 2 This and Raging Speedhorn.

The band still had its roots in thrash early Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer but also incorporated downtuning and melody and groove from bands such as In Flames, Arch Enemy, At The Gates and Soilwork. Adding a love for power metal this metal cocktail gave the band their very own unique sound.

The band's lyrics were influenced by the rawness of Clawfinger and Alice Cooper saying lyrics should make people think. So subject matters were from life experiences, true stories and some darker crimes and views on life, made to question and provoke thought.

The band's first show was at the King Billy Pub, Northampton. It was well received and the band released a 3 track live CD of this strictly limited edition.

This secured the first shows in London, including main support for Susan Acid at the Purple Turtle in Camden. The shows went well and the band were soon headlining. The last show had a new band playing their first ever show opening were 'The Defiled'.

The band released a new e.p in 2007 as a very limited edition only available at the Bloodstock Festival in Derbyshire.

The band went in to Lost Boys Studio and recorded the 'Face The Day' e.p.
This was well received and the band did 19 Shows in 18 months, also releasing another lted Bloodstock e.p. in 2009, this was posted for free download on the Planet Mosh Radio page as they loved the CD.

The band split shortly after the shows and reformed with new members for a few shows, releasing a very rough live demo at the shows.

The band have recently brought back some older members in preparation for next year's 10th Anniversary.
The band has recently recorded their first full album and is currently gigging.
