Crypt Lurker and Coltsblood November 2013 tour

Cryptlurker Coltsblood November 2014 UK tour

I have no idea what they have been putting in the Merseyside water recently but whatever it is can they please share it around?  Many years ago Liverpool spawned Carcass, one of my all time favourite bands, so any decent band to come from the area already had fine company.  In the last few years we've had Dragged Into Sunlight and Conan come along and redefine heavy whilst destroying ear canals in very different ways. Last year saw Black Magician...

Iniquity 2013 UK tour with Katalepsy and Unfathomable Ruination

Iniquity Katalepsy Unfathomable ruination 2013 uk tour

Terrorizer magazine have announced "Bloodletting the UK tour" featuring Copenhagen's Iniquity, Moscow's Katalepsy and our very own Unfathomable Ruination. Christ this has to be the most brutal tour of 2013!! Iniquity put out their debut, the death metal classic "Serenadium" in 1996 to amazing feedback from the underground press.  They then managed to follow up with an EP and 2 more full lengths of almost equal quality to their landmark debut (seriously what was in the water that 90's death metal bands drank to make them so consistent?).  2013 marks the 15th anniversary of the 1998 The Hidden Lore EP and so the line up from that recording have reformed for a few very special tour dates.  This is in Iniquity's woads a one off:

"There are NO plans of recording any new or old material and there won't be another reunion later on - at least not with this line-up. This is meant as a one time thing in hon

Damnation Festival 2013 announces 6 new bands

Damnation Festival 2013

OK enough already Damnation!! As if the line up wasn't already pretty darn tasty the fesitval have just announced 6 new bands in the form of melodic doom act Katatonia, Gorgoroth's re-incarnation in the form of God Seed, Year Of No Light, Shining and Mourning Beloveth.

Katatonia will be playing 'Viva Emptiness' in it's entirety, Anders Nystrom, said: "Since it looks like November will bring us Damnation, we're absolutely certain there'll be some Swedish export of atmospheric dark metal coming your way with it! We couldn't be more psyched to celebrate our 'Viva Emptiness' album anniversary at a festival we never got to play before. So Leeds, join us and be damned!".

In an interesting turn of events due to a...

Possible gig of the year alert

Evoken Roadburn 2011Tomorrow night, 23rd June 2013, the Boston Arms Music Room in London plays host to one of the most exciting gigs of the year (in our humble opinion).  Around 10 years ago New Jersey based Funeral Doom band Evoken finally made it to the UK to unleash their eagerly anticipated live show.  It was not meant to be though, and after being screwed over by the promoter the date didn't go ahead. They played a stunning set at Roadburn Festival in 2011, and now, finally, we are able to witness them for the first EVER time in the UK for an exclusive London date.  If you haven't checked out their latest album, "Atra Mors", released last year on Profound Lore, or their classic "Antithesis of Light" then you are seriously missing out.

The promoters behind...
