~~~~~~~~~~~~~LIVE REVIEW~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Chesterfield's Forgotten Remains tore The Intake a new one with their half hour of frantic and intense Euro-style metal. The quintet's music was almost incessantly up-tempo and featured some sweet shredding and was one of the most high-energy performances of the evening'' - Matt Bradley (Metalmouth.net
Forgotten Remains are a metal band from Chesterfield in North Derbyshire. They play blindingly fast thrash metal with a harder edge, ripping solos and growling death metal vocals being influenced by bands like Slayer, The Haunted, At The Gates, Cannibal Corpse and Pantera to name a few. The band was formed nearly ten years ago during their secondary school years under the name of Nylis and since then has gigged extensively throughout the United Kingdom. During 2007 the band supported Cradle of Filth on tour and had dates booked with American death metal bands Kataklysm and Aborted. The current line up has been solid for five years when they resurfaced under the title of Forgotten Remains.
Forgotten Remains have been reviewed in Rhythm magazine as well as being in NME. They are a hard working band and have recorded two EP's, entitled 'Forgotten Remains' (2012) and more recently 'Bind Torture Kill' (2013) both self released. The band was also able to release 'Bind Torture Kill' online through iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and other online outlets, as well as releasing it on professional hard CD copies. They were in the Metal to the Masses competition of 2013 for a chance to play at Bloodstock Festival, going down a storm in the first heat with the majority of the votes and just missing out at the final at Rock City, Nottingham. They have re-entered again this year with a lot of confidence plus have some exciting new gigs lined up with the likes of Incinery and Merciless Terror, as well as playing local shows in and around the North East Midlands area building up a strong presence.
The bands aim is to just keep gigging, getting out there in peoples faces and just enjoying playing, writing and recording heavy metal!
Releases: Forgotten Remains EP (2012), Bind Torture Kill EP (2013)
