Full Moon Dog Festival takes place this year on Saturday 13th October at the Cockpit in Leeds. The line up is already looking amazing with a headliner yet to be announced playing after Orange Goblin.

‘Full Moon Dog Festival’ was launched last year; the festival was created in memory of my brother, Jay-Jay Winter, founder member and front-man of rock band, ASOMVEL who was tragically killed in a car accident in October 2010. We decided that we could not allow the focus to be Jay’s death, but rather his life and his music. So October 2011 saw the first annual Full Moon Dog Festival – produced by my film production company, Starjack Entertainment.
The 2011 festival was a huge success – and this year’s festival will surpass even that. My production company will have its crew at the festival as we are producing our latest film; a hilarious look at all the backstage madness and mayhem of a busy rock festival entitled, ‘Madder Than a Full Moon Dog’, the film is set for release January 2013. All proceeds from the festival and the film will be used to grow the festival for the next year – ensuring that Jay’s name is never forgotten, and that we all have a kick-ass shin-dig in his honour!
REMEMBER THE 80’s? The days when hoards of metal fans would cram into local venues to see their favourite bands for a meagre couple of quid and ‘social networking’ meant actually getting off your backside and leaving the house! Well, WE’RE BRINGING BACK THE 80’s!! NINE great heavy metal bands for a mere £15 – THIS is what Jay would want – a festival in his honour, affordable to ALL heavy metal fans, not just those with designer clothes and deep pockets! Just like the good old days! This one’s for you Jay-Jay – and anyone else who yearns for better days!
This year the festival will be held in Jay’s home town of Leeds, at The Cockpit – it’s an all day festival which will take place on Saturday 13th October. It’s only 2 minutes’ walk from the train station, 10 minutes’ walk from the bus station (Etap rooms opposite bus station) — and there’s Leeds/Bradford airport nearby – so there are no excuses!
We are keeping the ticket price low and the calibre of the bands high – confirmed bands so far are: ORANGE GOBLIN, ASOMVEL, SOLSTICE, DARK FOREST, STUKA SQUADRON, STILETTO FARM, MERCENARY and ELIMINATOR – with one fantastic headline act still to be announced.
We are delighted that the local community is pulling together to help us. So far, our sponsors include ‘Kall Kwik Printing – Harrogate’, ‘The Riverside Bar – Selby’, and ‘Footloose and Fancy Foods – Leeds’. We are currently looking for a company to be our major sponsor of both the festival and the film – we have some exciting sponsorship incentives (including advertising worldwide and in perpetuity by way of film product placement and credits) so we urge local businesses to get behind us.
