OK enough already Damnation!! As if the line up wasn't already pretty darn tasty the fesitval have just announced 6 new bands in the form of melodic doom act Katatonia, Gorgoroth's re-incarnation in the form of God Seed, Year Of No Light, Shining and Mourning Beloveth.
Katatonia will be playing 'Viva Emptiness' in it's entirety, Anders Nystrom, said: "Since it looks like November will bring us Damnation, we're absolutely certain there'll be some Swedish export of atmospheric dark metal coming your way with it! We couldn't be more psyched to celebrate our 'Viva Emptiness' album anniversary at a festival we never got to play before. So Leeds, join us and be damned!".
In an interesting turn of events due to a...
If you haven't already spotted it all over the metal forums the Metal Hammer "Defenders of the Faith" tour has been announced today. Hot off their Download Festival appearance Amon Amarth will be playing 5 dates across the UK. Super happy that Carcass have been announced for support, as if 3 days in a row at the Underworld and a headline slot coming up at this year's Damnation Festival wasn't enough (you can never have too much Carcass)! Also supporting will be Glasgow based deathcore outfit Bleed From Within. The new Amon Amarth album Deceiver Of The Gods is due out on June 25th and can be pre-ordered from Metal Blade here. The tour has the following dates with tickets on sale soon...
The 2013 edition of Damnation festival has just had Sweden's Cult of Luna, Liverpool based thrash crossover act SSS and London based Black Metal act Voices added to the line up. They join the already confirmed Carcass, Crippled Black Phoenix, Vallenfyre, Negura Bunget, and Moss. Cult of Luna had this to say:

English extreme metal legends CARCASS will return to headline the ninth Damnation Festival for their only UK appearance following the release of their first album in 17 years.

Damnation Festival is next week, and for most people it's payday this weekend. There's still tickets available for just £32, seriously that's a bargain you'd be looking at £15-£20 plus booking fee to see Electric Wizard in London and with this you're getting 23 bands, a free programme and a peaceville CD upon entry!!
Also Damnation have just released their bar prices, check this out:
Available ALL day at the festival - including the after-show party:
Tuborg Can - £2.50
Tetleys Can - £2.50
Vodka & draught mixer - £2.50
Bacardi & draught mixer - £2.50
Double up of house spirits for £1 (Vodka, Bacardi, JD, Bombay Sapphire, Southern Comfort, Malibu, Archers)
Pint draught soft drink £1.50
How many festivals or gigs do you go to where the drinks are that reasonably priced. We managed to pick up a hotel room for £28 so that's £14 each, and return fares from London are as cheap as £11 if you are willing to travel at ungodly o'clock. There's really no excuse not to go, this is a true rarity, a music festival that won't leave you crying all the way to the bank.
We figured for those of you still debating going, or those of you who have already purchased and are not too familiar with all of the bands you might find it useful to have links to all of them in one place. So we've done the hard work for you and gathered a selection of links for all the bands playing.
One slight disclaimer, these are not our videos, we've just embedded them from youtube, if any labels or bands are unhappy with it please get in touch and we'll immediately take down your videos on the news post.
