About

Auger Bane were formed in 2005, from the minds of Darren Beasley and Daniel Shepard as a modern rock band with slabs of metal, stoner riffs, big hooky choruses and epic southern grooves added to a pinch of early Maiden. Their first recording, the well-received sludgetastic 'Scream Sessions Vol 1.', was put down overnight in a stinking hot room behind a theatre in Surrey, this was followed by winning 'The Battle of the Bands 2005' in Sutton, rising above a multitude of screaming Emo bands and the likes of Civillian to take the crown. This led to a session recording with the well known Sir Harry at his beautiful studios by the river, 'The Long Walk' featured on the EP "House of the Scorpion released in 2006. Following some departures the settled line-up of Darren Beasley on guitars, Dan Shepard on vocals, Max Torres on bass and Chris Mee on drums set to work on recording their first album 'On Wings Of Fallen Rock'. Released to acclaim and good vibes all over Europe in 2008, the 'Bane got to see their album released on itunes and available in all HMVs and Virgin stores everywhere. This was followed up with a headline slot on the 2nd stage at the infamous Bulldog Bash, with gigs at the Mean Fiddler and the Underworld leading to their biggest live date yet.... Download Festival 2009. Playing to a packed tent early on a Saturday morning having almost perished in an immense car crash the previous day...2009 and early 2010 saw the band retreat to write the follow up album 'Crow The Forgiver'. Recording is almost complete and it'll be out later this year, 2011. In other news Max left the 'Bane to return to Brazil earlier this year, and we're gearing up for new dates with old friend Warren Gaynor (ex-Sweetleaf, Dripfeed) stepping in on bass duties.....keep em peeled....
