CORAYA, are a four-piece, originals band, based in Mansfield, Nottingham. We formed in 2010 and have been gathering momentum locally and are fast becoming 'one to check out'. In 2012 among other gigs we were part of the Oxjam charity event raising money for Oxfam and we also supported Higher On Maiden, the highly acclaimed tribute band whose shows regularly include guest appearances of Iron Maiden's members. Coraya were also asked to open the Gridlock Festival in June 2012, which was expecting a crowd of around 2,000. Sadly for the band, financial backing was pulled at the last moment and the show was shelved until 2014. On the plus side, Coraya were immediately asked to open the next show, which was obviously accepted. We have also completed our first music video, for the track 'Dying When You Wanna Be Saved', this is receiving a great response and will hopefully only help propel the band further.
All four members work extremely hard to create exciting music and to put on an energetic, intense live show. The music and performance is taken seriously, but the emphasis is on having a good time and making the watching public enjoy themselves too.
