About

GASKIN are a British hard rock / heavy metal band formed in 1980 by Paul Gaskin (Guitar / Lead Vocals) and Dave Norman (Drums) in North Lincolnshire. The band's formation co-incided with the emergence of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal , or NWoBHM as it affectionately became known - bands such as Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Saxon, Diamond Head and Praying Mantis were at the forefront of this movement.

The band changed line up several times, with mainstay Paul Gaskin carrying the torch and eventually releasing a 3rd album "Stand or Fall" in 2000, accompanied by an appearance at Germany's famed Wacken Open Air Festival the same year.

In 2006 Paul re-united with Dave Norman for a 25th Anniversary concert celebrating the band's first album. Sporadic recording sessions followed, with the eventual completion of a new, 4th album, and a new line up featuring Andrew Solomon (Guitar) and Mick Cross (Bass). The new album "Edge of Madness" is released on High Roller Records on August 20th 2012
