The Veil are a dynamic quintet whose material is multi-layered and complex, yet driving and intuitive. The band draws influence from doom metal to post-punk, black metal and folk, with a strongly cohesive sound exclusively theirs.

Having released the well-received Nightfall Watching EP in early 2009, The Veil followed up with their debut LP Ghosts of Memory in November 2011. The nine-track, one-hour album encompasses crushing heaviness, soaring harmony, and subtle melody. Mastered at West West Side Music in New Jersey by Alan Douches (Neurosis, Tiamat, Akercocke), the release is complemented by the sumptuous yet minimalistic artwork and layout of Valnoir/Metastazis (Alcest, Morbid Angel, Watain, Ulver).

Currently based in Sydney, Australia, The Veil are an experienced live act, and have shared the stage with such notable and diverse artists as Alcest, Alchemist, Nazxul, Beastianity and Bain Wolfkind.
