WITCHSORROW: https://www.facebook.com/witchsorrowdoom?fref=ts Worshipping the almighty sounds of Saint Vitus, Electric Wizard, Candlemass , since their first live appearance with Blood Island Raiders in December 2006, Witchsorrow have preached their gospel across the UK, appearing on bills with Orange Goblin, Electric Wizard, The Lamp of Thoth and The Gates of Slumber among others and at the Bloodstock Open Air festival and Damnation Festival, earning a reputation as a crushing, unrelenting doom force live. They recently toured Europe supporting Moss as well. Witchsorrow formed in 2005 and released 2 albums so far: Witchsorrow 2010 God Curse Us (Rise Above/Metalblade) 2012 Plus a limited edition Roadburn Festivalonly release, De Mysteriis Doom Sabbathas. Containing 17 minutes of doomed blackness, plus a cover of Mayhem's 'Freezing Moon'. What reviews say about the band: モ Embracing the spirit of the second wave of post 70's bands that defined the genre, England's Witchsorrow echo the mournful cries of St. Vitus, Trouble, Candlemass, Revelation, Penance and more recent masters, Reverend Bizarre. This is about as unfashionable as it gets; no grim drone, post rock pap or ambient crap, Witchsorrow play unashamed Doom Metal in its purest form. As Nick confirms; モI wanted the band to be everything I loved about doom. I'd see a lot of bands in Vitus shirts around, but it was all feedback and sludge and screaming. I like that stuff, but there weren't hardly any bands doing doom the way I loved it, doom METAL. Some bands try not to be associated with metal, whereas we're nothing else! We're just very slow, miserable metalヤ. Rise Above Records: http://www.riseaboverecords.com/artists/riseabove/witchsorrow/ モ Witchsorrow seem to do best when moving forward at breakneck (for doom) speed, as it almost seems to give the band a bit of something different than most modern doom bands.ヤ http://heavymetal.about.com/od/witchsorrow/fr/WitchsorrowGodCurseUsReview.htm モ Witchsorrow are a prime example of a band unaffected by this Johnnycomelately approach and play their pure and epic nonpretentious brand of doom metal straight from the heart. If their selftitled 2010 debut suggested that, God Curse Us confirms it across almost an hour of unsullied doom.ヤ ヨ Metalblade http://metalblade.com/witchsorrow/ SEABASTARD https://www.facebook.com/seabastarddoom?fref=ts SEA BASTARD are a 4 Piece Sludge/Stoner/Doom Metal Band from Brighton UK. Formed in July 2011 from the ashes of two Brighton doom bands, Jovian and Funeral Hag and their sound is a fusion of the two bands styles: the uncompromising lethargy of Jovian meeting the groove of Funeral Hag Sludgelord says: モ Sea Bastard are a fucking brutal beast of heavy monolithic riffs. Blending Sludge, Doom and Stoner Metal to heavy and down right mean effect. モ モIf your into Electric Wizard, Sleep, Cough and Ramesses well Sea Bastard can all give them a run for their money for the heaviest band out there モ http://thesludgelord.blogspot.com/2012/11/seabastardareback.html モ More Gargantuan than the Kraken and noisier than Cthulhu himself, Sea Bastard unleash their aquatic Doom upon Desertfest 2013. Featuring 3 members of the much missed Funeral Hag and Oli from the equally missed Jovian this Brighton troop proved that once their efforts were combined the greatest of things can happen, their recent self titled album has been unleashed to resounding praised and has secured itself a vinyl release on local indie label 'Headless Guru Records' which will hopefully be due out in time for the festivities. The songs are heavy as hell and frontman Monty sings of Wizards and Orcs galore, this truly is one band that will bring an earth shattering start to a incredibly heavy day at the HDP/WPC stage on the Sunday of the Festival! モ http://www.thesleepingshaman.com/news/fromthedepthsseabastardrisefordesertfest2013london/ RISE OF THE SIMIANS https://www.facebook.com/Riseofthesimians?fref=ts Rots (Blackened Doom from Hastings) , formerly known as Rise of the Simians. They begun their journey into the vaults of blackened Doom back in 2006. They are Sloan on guitar, Luke Bolton on vox/guitar, Roger on drums and due to original bass player Mark Poole's exit from the band, they have welcomed replacement Dave Moschini into the cult. If you're not aware of this filthy foursome then expect Atmospheric Doom with weighed down groove 'n' riffs with a good dose of outright Black Metal. The south coast 4 piece are currently working on a new album but they have had a few releases over the past few years most notable ROTS (demo) in 2007 and The Cursed law of Thelma in 2008.
