Eyehategod the Garage

Well it seems like most of the country’s metal community is heading up/down/across to London this weekend for the Iron Maiden shows happening at the O2 Arena on Saturday 3rd August and Sunday 4th August (Tickets are still available for the 4th here).

As well as the Maiden shows those of a more sludgey persuasion are heading to see New Orlean’s Eyehategod who are playing at the London Garage (tickets here).

What you may not be aware of coming from out of town, is that Consumer Electronics are playing a free show at The Black Heart, tucked in the street just behind the Underworld in Camden.  The show is in the afternoon at 4pm finishing at 5pm so plenty of time to make it to either of the shows afterwards.

For those of you travelling in from far and wide a trip to the pub is highly recommended, they have one of the best beer selections in London, and hey the show is free.  Consumer Electronics were formed in 1982 by Philip Best (later to join Whitehouse) and is known as one of the pioneers of Power Electronics.  I’m sure this isn’t going to appeal to everyone who comes on the site but those of you into experimental/noise Industrial music, the curious, or the beer seekers should head along and check out this free show.  Tell ’em metalgigs sent you!
