Website issues – updated

test photo

Ignore this post - the site is fixed and back up and running for submissions

Hi everyone, since switching to our new webhosts we are having an error 406 issue which means new bands can not be added to the listings.  We're aware of the issue and trying to fix it asap so please bear with us until the fix is sorted.  You can still add gigs to the website, just not new bands, so if a band is not on the website that is supporting please add them into the extra info field, do not bother creating a new band as it will vanish into the cosmos!!

In the meantime here's a poster for the upcoming Opeth and Alcest tour, tickets can be found here.

Killtown Festival 2014 preview

Killtown festival line up 2014 copenhagen denmark

The last EVER Killtown Festival takes place in Copenhagen in 3 weeks time on 5th-7th September with a warm up show on the 4th September, and just LOOK AT THAT LINE UP!!

Metalgigs is not affiliated with Killtown in anyway, but having been before I can say it was one of the best metal events i've ever been to. I would hate for people to miss out on going when this year's edition is the last one that will ever take place. The festival is so good: a small venue, great sound, no backstage, cheap beer, cheap food, free film showings, (lots) of record stalls and bands manning their own merch, and i'll say it again LOOK AT THAT LINE UP...

Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2014 review and round up

Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2014

Monday night saw the Indigo2 in London host the Metal Hammer Golden God Awards 2014 and predictably it was a combination of ear-splitting shredding, scantily clad hostesses and beer soaked flooring.

The 12th annual event once again elevated itself from the usual industry backslapping of most ceremonies by inviting hundreds of fans to attend. No pretence of glamour and gossip, just plenty of head-banging, live music and shambolic speeches.

After openers Behemoth brought some...

LIVE REVIEW: Wovenhand Bush Hall London 16th June 2014

Wovenhand London Bush Hall Antony Roberts

This was my first visit to Bush Hall in Shepherds Bush, and after travel delays and late arrival, I ventured into the rather expansive space of the main Hall to find Wovenhand were already about to take the stage.  Built in 1904 and originally used as a dance hall it's a suitably impressive venue, full of chandeliers, decorative wall and ceiling coverings, mirrors, and a giant red curtain covering the back of the stage that looks like it was stolen straight out of the Twin Peaks set.

Considering how many...
